New in Version 6.08
(4/18/2005)
- Fixed bug in v6.07 release that caused elevation values to be
incorrectly stored as "0" in exported MIF/MID files. (Registered
Version Only)
- Fixed saving of holes (islands) in area features to Global
Mapper package files. They were being changed into their own
parent areas rather than remaining holes. (Registered Version
Only)
- When loading DXF files, any features with a layer marked as
frozen will be marked as deleted upon import. Display of these
features could then be re-enabled by enabling the display of
deleted features on the Vector Display tab of the Configuration
dialog.
- When loading DXF files, any INSERT entities that are just block
references will no longer be loaded as separate point features.
- Don't include spline control points when loading POLYLINE
entities from DXF files.
- Made SPLINE entities be loaded from DXF files.
- Improved saving of some state plane projections to ECW
files.
(Registered Version Only)
- Added support for additional datums being read from and saved to
ECW files.
- Allowed ECW files to be loaded from .tar.gz and .zip archives.
- Reduced memory usage of most types of vector data from 25-50%.
- Do not write out a vertical datum field to elevation GeoTIFF
files. Previously, a vertical datum key was written out with a
vertical datum of NAVD29 even though Global Mapper actually did
not know what the vertical datum was.
(Registered Version Only)
- When loading GeoTIFF and ECW files that have projection
information specified in their header, check for a PRJ file to see
if a more specific datum is specified than the one specified in
the image header (i.e. NAD27 (Canada) rather than just NAD27).
- Store additional precision for some attributes in PRJ files.
- Added support for loading track lines from OziExplorer PLT files
when the PLT file does not specify the number of points in the
track line.
- When specifying custom bounds for collar clipping, added an
option to initialize the lat/lon collar bounds to the lat/lon
bounds of the currently selected area feature.
- Drastically sped up batch conversion operations for raster files
when the "Use Other Source Files As Filler" option is
selected.
(Registered Version Only)
- Drastically sped up the import of some Shapefiles that had lots
of polygon features with holes in them.
- Allowed the projection to be corrected even for raster file
types that don't support rectification, like ECW and MrSID.
- Corrected half-pixel shift of data files placed using ERS files.
- Added option to custom shaders to allow the selected color
ranges to automatically be stretched to the elevation range of the
loaded data to allow emulation of some of the built-in shaders
like the Atlas and Color Ramp shaders.
- Added support for the ETRS89 datum.
- Added support for the Swiss Grid projection.
- Added support for loading DHM25 (Swiss elevation grid) format
files.
- Added support for loading MODIS data directly from HDF files.
- Only automatically use OziExplorer .map files for positioning
and projection information if they were specifically created for
the specified file.
- Added support for loading TIFF files compressed with the ZIP
(Deflate) compression method.
- Added option to run scripts within the context of the main view
window when using the File->Run Script menu command. This
allows scripts to work with already loaded data and also load new
data if necessary.
(Registered Version Only)
- Added ability to right click on attribute values in the Feature
Info dialog displayed by the Feature Info Tool and either copy the
attribute/value to the clipboard, open the value as a URL in a web
browser, or open the value as a file either in Global Mapper or
with Windows.
- Improved the info dialog displayed for selected features in the
Feature Info Tool to display feature measurement information as
well as add the ability to copy the feature information to the
clipboard and edit the information.
- Renamed the "Pick Tool" the "Feature Info"
and changed the icon to hopefully make it more obvious what the
tool does.
- Fixed TerraServer access after it was broken by changes to the
teraserver-usa.com web site on April 16, 2005.
