- Replaced the help bitmap and "Click Here to
Download Data" button when nothing is loaded with a set of
large "Quick Start" buttons.
- Now supports adding your own custom datums To add datum transformation
just hit
"Add Datum" control on the Projection tab of the
Configuration dialog.
- Added ability to modify attributes for multiple
selected features using the Digitizer Tool. There is now a section
on the edit dialog for working with attributes if you are editing
multiple features at the same time.
- Now supports loading ASPRS LIDAR LAS format files
containing highly detailed elevation samples and either creating
an elevation grid from them or rendering them based on their
elevation using the current elevation shader.
- Added support for loading ASRP (Arc Standard
Raster Product) format data sets. Just load the TRANSH01.THF file
to load the data.
- Now support for loading ASTER L1A imagery in its
native HDF format.
- Added support for loading Hypack Matrix (.mtx)
format elevation grid files.
- Now supports loading Marplot MIE format files.
- New option to the Batch Convert/Reproject process
to allow the use of other source files specified in the batch
operation to be used as filler when data is missing from the file
being converted. One common use of this is for filling in the
slivers that result when reprojecting data. (Registered Version
Only)
- New option for selecting font to use for the
header and footer text used during a printout. New default header
and footer font (Times New Roman) also allows accented characters
to print correctly.
- Made transparency information in GIF files be
used if present.
- New support for directly loading the SRTM-30+
(SRTM-30 with bathymetry and holes filled) files available at
http://topex.ucsd.edu/WWW_html/srtm30_plus.html
- Global Mapper supports Gauss Krueger Argentina
and Poland 1992/19 projection systems.
- Added the RGF-93 datum for use with the Lambert93
projection for France.
- Added support for the Campo Inchauspe datum.
- Create big endian (Motorola byte order) elevation
BIL files.

- Added support for loading RPF (CADRG/CIB) files
in polar zones.
- Made elevation layers be stored as elevation
layers in Global Mapper package files rather than being saved as
8-bit GeoTIFF images. (Registered Version Only)

- Added support for exporting elevation data to
Geosoft Grid with 16-bit integer values (previously only 32-bit
floating point Geosoft Grid files could be created).

- Added right-click option to the Measure tool to
allow specification that distances should always be specified in
the base units of a measurement type (i.e. meters or feet) rather
than rolling over to larger units like kilometers or miles for
long distances.
- Fixed display of large collar when zoomed out on
downloaded TerraServer imagery that crossed UTM zone borders.
- Added option to force dragging a square export
bounds by holding down the SHIFT key when dragging an export box. (Registered

- Added support for decimal elevation precision for
contour lines and spot elevations in DLG-O files.
- Added support for loading Shapefiles that do not
have an index (*.shx) file with them.
- Added support for using an alpha channel stored
in TIFF files (previously the TIFF files would load, but the alpha
channel would be ignored).
- When exporting Shapefiles or DBF files, made any
numeric attribute values that are non-integers be stored using the
floating point field type rather than the numeric field type since
some software always interprets the numeric field type as integer

- Added support for automatically using Touratech
calibration (.CAL) files when loading most imagery formats.
- Fixed lockup when exporting to ECW format with
some projections active.

- When performing a batch conversion, maintain the
lower-case letters from the original file name (previously
everything was converted to upper-case).

- Corrected calculation of view sheds where a
transmission angle is used for the receiver height and earth
curvature is not being ignored.

- No longer truncate attribute names to 10
characters when exporting vector features to MIF/MID format files.

- Automatically use positioning and projection
information from OziExplorer .map files if present for imagery
data that does not have the positioning or projection information
specified in any other way.
- Allowed lat/lon export bounds coordinates for the
following:
GLOBAL_BOUNDS, GLOBAL_BOUNDS_SIZE, and LAT_LON_BOUNDS parameters
in script files to be specified in formats other than decimal
degrees, like DMS, DM, and so on. (Registered Version Only)
- Made Matlab format files be exported in the
currently configured export projection rather than always
exporting the coordinates as latitude/longitude values.

- Added checkbox option for most elevation grid
exports to force the use of square grid cells. For Arc ASCII Grid
exports this is checked by default as some applications cannot
deal with Arc ASCII Grid files with non-square grid cells.

- Corrected half-pixel shift of rotated ASTER
L1A/L1B imagery.
- Removed change added in v6.01 to read features
from the BLOCKS section of DXF files in addition to the ENTITIES
section since for most files this resulted in unwanted features
being loaded and apparently no other applications load features
from the BLOCKS section.
- Fixed problem reading azimuth angles and azimuth
points for the Hotine Oblique Mercator projection from PRJ files.
This problem was introduced in v6.06.
- Fixed problem reading some USGS DEM files. This
problem was introduced in v6.06.
- Fixed occasional problem with the maximum
elevation value stored for centimeter and decimeter USGS DEMs (it
was one unit lower than it should have been about half of the
time). (Registered Version Only)
- Fixed crash loading workspace files from the
command line.

- Fixed bug in view shed calculations using a
transmission angle rather than a receiver height. The bug was
introduced a few revisions back and basically made the receiver
height be used even if the transmission angle option was selected.

- Fixed occasional odd results generating contours
when the global projection is using arc second or radian units.
