What's New in
Version 6.04 (11/11/2004)
- Replaced the Recenter Tool with the new
Pan (Grab-and-Drag) Tool. The new tool
allows you to left click and drag the map
to a new location which should be much
more intuitive than the operation of the
current Recenter Tool.
- Added option for most vector data types
to select which attribute value to use (if
any) for the feature labels.
- Added option in the Overlay Control
Center to right click on a raster or
elevation
layer and zoom the main view
such that a single sample/pixel in the
selected layer will be approximately one
pixel on the screen.
- Added support for exporting loaded point
data to a CSV format file. (Registered
Version Only)
- Added support for loading DBF (Dbase)
format files with point data.
- Added support for loading BT (Binary
Terrain) format elevation grid files.
- Added option to export loaded elevation
data to a BT (Binary Terrain) format grid
file. (Registered Version Only)
- Added option to export loaded area and
line vector data to a Moss format file. (Registered
Version Only)
- Added option when loading ASCII files to
use the first line of the file as column
headers (attribute names) for all
attributes extracted from coordinate lines
for point features.
- Improved auto-detection of delimiters
for ASCII files when lines contain
multiple delimiters (i.e. spaces and
commas).
- Allowed coordinates for ASCII files to
be specified in degrees/minutes and
degrees/minutes/seconds formats in most
circumstances.
- Added option to generate JPG-in-TIFF
format files when exporting or batch
converting to the GeoTIFF format. (Registered
Version Only)
- Added Austrian Grid and Molleweide
projections.
- Added support for the Astro B4, Astro
Beacon, Astro Dos 71/4, Astronomic Station
1952, Easter Island 1967, Hermannskogel,
Indian (Bangladesh), Indian (Mean Value),
Indian (Thailand), ISTS 073 Astro, Kertau
1948, Leigon, Observatorio 1966, Pico de
las Nieves, Portugese 1973, Provisional
South Chilean, Qornoq, Rome 1940, Sao Braz,
Southeast Base, Southwest Base and
Timbalai 1948 datums as well as several
local variations of the European 1950 and
NAD27 datums.
- Added option in GeoTIFF export to
control whether or not small gaps in
elevation data are filled. (Registered
Version Only)
- Allowed latitude/longitude coordinate to
be entered in degrees/minutes and
degrees/minutes/seconds formats on the
rectification dialog, the TerraServer
import dialog, and the pan to/set location
dialog.
- Fixed problem with triangulated
rectification that would sometimes cause
some of the control points to get moved a
little.
- Fixed error when exporting TerraServer
layers that had the auto-adjust contrast
setting enabled. (Registered Version
Only)
- Fixed problem in STL export that caused
all y coordinate values to be shifted
north by one sample spacing. (Registered
Version Only)
- Made two digits past the decimal point
be written out when exporting elevation
values for vector features to Simple ASCII
text files. (Registered Version Only)
- Improved accuracy of zooming to a
particular scale and also made the scale
value in the zoom to scale dialog be
initialized to the current view scale.
- Fixed loading of color TIFF files that
incorrectly specify their type as black
and white.
- Improved the accuracy of the Stereo70
projection.
- Removed warning for TIFF files that use
a Geographic projection but do not specify
an angular units value. Arc degrees will
just be assumed without bothering the
user.
- Added ability to save the list of files
in the batch conversion dialog to the
clipboard by right clicking on the files
list and selecting the appropriate option
in the popup menu that is displayed. (Registered
Version Only)
- Sped up loading of workspaces which
contain multiple files loaded from the
same archive (i.e. .zip, .tar.gz) file. (Registered
Version Only)
- Added support for loading point features
from INSERT entities in DXF files.
- Fixed rare problem with vector features
right along the edge of a map not being
exported if the data has been
re-projected. (Registered Version Only)
- Fixed problems with lines drawing
thicker than they should if grid display
is enabled and the option to always draw
all grid lines regardless of zoom scale is
enabled.
- Sped up rendering and exporting of
TerraServer data when there is no data
available for part of the TerraServer area
requested.
- Made floating point values rather than
signed integers be used when exporting BIL
elevation files with 4 bytes per sample
(32-bits). (Registered Version Only)
- Made double-clicking on an
attribute/value list item in the feature
edit dialog bring up that attribute/value
pair for editing.
- Fixed problem with the anti-alias
setting for elevation layers not being
correct restored from workspaces. (Registered
Version Only)
