| Format USGS Digital Line Graph, Spatial Data Transfer Standard | SDTS Description: Spatial Data Transfer Standard or SDTS, supported by our 3D GIS mapping software Global Mapper, defines data as an non-proprietary format for packaging vector or raster spatial data. Designed to enable blind transfer of information between different hardware and software applications.
SDTS was designed by an committee for a variety of government agencies and private companies requiring a more efficient procedure for exchanging GIS data.
The USGS department of The National Mapping Division is now responsible for the maintenance of the SDTS standard. SDTS is not classified as a software package, database, product specification or intended to replace gis mapping software internal processing structures. Spatial content is equivalent to DLG-O, but physical format and metadata content are more robust. Scales are 1:24,000/25,000, 1:100,000 and 1:2,000,000.
DLG/SDTS data are derived directly from DLG-O data, which continue to be produced and sold as before. Available for free? Yes. Web Pages and FTP Sites: | Check other Supported Formats of our Gis Mapping Software Download the Free Version of our Gis Mapping Software | |
