| Binary Interleaved Pixel BIP Format | BIP Description: Binary Interleaved Pixel or BIP is a image file stored in one format or another to ease manipulations. The BIP format is optimal for accessing the image spectral information.
These files are usually accompanied by a .hdr file which describes the layout and formatting of the file. Global Mapper requires this .hdr file in addition to the .bil, .bsq, or .bip file in order to load the file. Available for free? Sometimes, this is a generic format used by many different data providers, so the cost of the data in these formats varies.
