Binary
Interleaved by Line BIL Format
| BIL
Description: Binary
Interleaved by Line or BIL is a image file
stored in one format or another to ease manipulations.
BIL
basically is a compromise format to easily pull spectral and spatial gis
mapping information.
These files
are usually accompanied by a .hdr file
which describes the layout and formatting
of the file.
Global Mapper requires this .hdr
file in addition to the .bil, .bsq, or .bip
file in order to load the file.
Available
for free? Sometimes, this is a generic
format used by many different data
providers, so the cost of the data in
these formats varies.
